Hilarious and fun!! That’s what I would say about this book. Like all the rest of the books in this series, the author brings out Greg’s frank personality and you wish you really knew someone like him. His whole idea of enjoying summer is exactly the opposite of his mothers and so it’s all about what the summer really turns out to be. The cartoon illustrations are really enjoyable to look at, in fact according to me, that’s the best part of the book. All together I think it is an enjoyable book for any kid.
It is based on the summer vacation time at Greg’s (the main character) house. They don’t really mention where it is set.
The main character, Greg is the life of the book. But his best friend Rowley, his brother Rodrick, his mother and her great ideas, his dad and the new entrant, his dog all add to the mischief and fun.
The cover design is very child friendly and catchy and makes you want to read the book. The readability of the book is high. You don’t get bored and don’t feel like stopping once you start reading.
The illustrations are excellent and add to the reading pleasure. The comedy is mind catching and keeps you in a happy mood. The end of the book is hilarious, that’s a secret, read it if you want to know what happens!!!!
All the books in the series are similar. They could be more different.
